New research called for on 'Equality and Wellbeing across Generations'
The Joint Programming Initiative on demographic changes: ‘More Years, Better Lives’ has announced a new call for research proposals, expected to be launched on April 6th. The Joint Call 2020 aims to support policy in reducing inequality in the face of demographic change. Proposals for research should improve understanding of how demographic change is altering the implicit contract between generations and how policy can ensure that change reduces inequality instead of increasing it. More specifically, three aspects of inequality are targeted:
1. Income and wealth;
2. Caring responsibilities;
3. Social and political participation.
Funding organisations from eleven countries have indicated commitment to the call: AU, BE, CA, DE, ES, FI, FR, LV, NO, SE, UK. Not all funding agencies fund proposals under all three aspects, so parties interested in submitting should consult the website and upcoming call documents to align their activities with the topics funded by their funding organisation.
More information including the pre-call announcement is available at the MYBL website.
